AC Cobra GT Roadster exterior showcased
‘the most advanced Cobra ever conceived’
After teasing us at the end of 2022 with seductive silhouettes and promises of benchmark production detail and build quality, AC Cars have now fully revealed the modernised AC Cobra GT roadster.
The latest iteration of the Cobra comes as ‘the result of three years’ intense investment and development’, setting out to deliver ’the most advanced Cobra ever conceived’. A joint project with partners, automotive designers Icona and Cecomp engineering. The Turin-based duo have used their production and aerodynamic technologies to ensure the delivery of high-performance car that continues the legacy of the original.
The supercharged Ford V8 engine now delivers 654bhp, offered with a choice of 6 speed manual or 10 speed automatic gear box, driving the AC GT Cobra from 0-60 in 3.4 seconds.
Conceived from the outset by the UK-based AC team as a ‘clean sheet’ for one of the most iconic names in motoring, focuses on delivering a meticulously engineered iteration of the Shelby Cobra that remains faithful to the 1960s spirit of the original.
Built on aluminium spaceframe chassis and race-tuned suspension, the sub-1500kg roadster tops out at 173mph.
Builds start from £285,000, with slot reservations for the handcrafted roadster now available via the AC Cars website. A hands-on public event is expected before the end of April.
